Bennettville and the Tioga Mining District are near the crest of the Sierra, while Lundy is situated in the rugged canyon near California’s Mono Lake.  This book and the Lundy book spring from the pages of the Homer Mining Index, Lundy’s weekly newspaper.

Bennettville and Dana Village served the Great Sierra mine which dug 1,784 feet to strike a vein that was never reached.
